My Priorities

Invest in Natural Resources

Canada has an abundance of natural resources that can provide great wealth for us.

When you compare Canada to other leading producers of natural resources, we lead the world in our:

  • Worker safety standards
  • Human rights standards
  • Ethical standards
  • Gender equality standards
  • Religious freedoms
  • Environmental stewardship

The best thing we can do for the planet is to produce more of almost everything in Canada so we can displace other production in the world that doesn’t adhere to our high standards.

Step 1 – Build Pipelines

Even as alternative energy sources expand, oil and gas will continue to supply the majority of the world’s energy for decades to come. We must get our oil to tidewater in order to sell to countries other than the U.S. By having pipelines west, east and south, we can ensure we get top dollar for our products and diversify our customer base, all the while bringing good quality jobs and tax revenue to Canada.

Step 2 – Restore Investor Confidence in Canada

In January 2017 our Prime Minister said “We can’t shut down the oilsands tomorrow. We need to phase them out. We need to manage the transition off of our dependence on fossil fuels.” By introducing bills like C-69, our government is making it nearly impossible to build resource projects in Canada. As a result, many companies are abandoning Canada in favour of jurisdictions like the U.S. and Kazakhstan. One of our leading producers, Transcanada, plans to change its name to TC Energy and make the U.S. the main focus of its investment.

We must restore investor confidence in our country by re-implementing a regulatory process that not only protects our environment but provides a predictable framework and timing.
